PCC - I Have Been Waiting For Months For My Police Clearance, Will CWS Close My File?

If the South African Police Service (SAPS) takes a long time to give you your police clearance certificate, it can unfortunately slow down the speed of your application.

However, you should not worry that your agent (CWS, Amerikaners etc) will immediately close your file just because of this delay.

Because the process of becoming a refugee involves many different, careful security checks by the U.S. government, they are used to dealing with administrative hold-ups.

The officials understand that getting documents from local government offices can sometimes take a long time.

It is best to stay in touch with your application case worker and keep them updated on your efforts to get the document, and continue to provide any proof of your attempts to get the clearance.
